Jerry McCoy - Bass/Vocals

Jerry Mccoy - Bass/vocals | Hubcap & the Loose Nuts | Blues band

Jerry McCoy started playing the four string at the age of 15.  Like most blooming musicians, he got with a couple of his junior high-class mates to form his first band.  Within a couple of years, they were good enough to open for the likes of Bugs Henderson and Ray Wylie Hubbard.  Jerry even played at several Freddie King Memorial concerts to have a limousine driver hand him a torn Marlboro cigarette package with a hand written note saying: "Enjoyed it, Bonnie Raitt".

Over the next two decades, Jerry has played at many venues all over the East Texas area, as well as Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida panhandle.  Even within these ventures, Jerry has been on the same stage and played with Ronnie "Mouse" Weiss and Ken "Nardo" Murray of Mouse and the Traps.

In October of 2010, Jerry joined with the likes of Larry Pierce and Nathan Tubb to form what is known as "Hubcap and the Loose Nuts".  In January of 2017, the band added Tad Phillips on harp.

This year, Jerry McCoy has been nominated as the Top 5 Bass players in the East Texas area for the East Texas Music Awards.
